To help prepare your child to have a successful first day in school we would like to give you some reminders regarding your child’s school lunch program.
NO REDUCED CO-PAY & ONLINE MEAL APPLICATION
If you have qualified for a reduced meal eligibility we are happy to remind you that this school year, we are waiving the co-pay for reduced price meals. Free and reduced price meals have NO CHARGE to the student. If you think your household may be eligible for this benefit please fill out and submit an application online at http://www.lunchapplication.com.
Online free and reduced meal application is fast and convenient! You will need your child’s 10 digit student # when filling out your application online, just like in the K12 Payment Center. If you don’t know your child’s student number we are providing it with this letter together with their serving PIN#. You may also get it through our website at any time. Just click here then click on “Get Student ID” or call us at (562) 799 4592.

Dealing with your children’s school money just got a lot easier! You can now add money to their accounts for meals online securely and even see what they are buying. You may have previously used http://www.K12PaymentCenter.com to access your child’s meal account, but now the website is new and improved, with more features that make it easier to manage your child’s account.
If you already have an online payment account, just login with your current login credentials. All of your information will be transferred over. If you haven’t used the website before, go to http://www.K12PaymentCenter.com and click “Register Now” to create an account. Select Los Alamitos Unified School District from the drop-down lists of school districts, fill in your information, input your credit or debit card information and you’re ready to go! Note that there is a fee of $1.95 for each transaction. You will need your child’s 10 digit student ID number; simply contact us for their ID number and with any other questions you may have.

A LA CARTE AT ELEMENTARY SITES
A la carte menu for snacks for Elementary will be available two weeks after school starts. Here are the rules:
Snacks do not take the place of lunch meals. A student will only be allowed to purchase the snacks if they purchase during recess or if they already have acquired or purchased a lunch meal from the cafeteria or brought lunch from home.
Only elementary students are allowed to use their account to purchase a la carte unless you email or call the cafeteria supervisor at your child’s school site to request otherwise.
Maximum of one purchase each for beverage and snack item per child only.
