So I asked you to write a letter to Santa to ask for what you wanted for Christmas.
 

So as soon as I heard this song i KNEW that you were going to love it.  I’ve grown to know your taste in music now. I picked you up from school and the first thing you do as soon as we settle into the car is begin to bark at me to get me to play your current favorite song, “Top of the World” by Imagine Dragons.  I tell you that you would need to wait and be patient because I want to play MY favorite song first. So as soon as it starts, I begin to emphatically sing and dance while you start to whine and frown in the backseat. It only takes a couple of minutes for me to see your reaction change and start to actually listen to it that I know I got you into it. I dont say anything as it ends and then play the song you wanted to hear just to make you happy.

A few minutes pass and I forget about the music as we start to talk about our dinner plans. You then cut me off and ask for me to play the song “from yesterday”. It takes me some time to figure out that you actually want me to play the song I KNEW you would love. I say “OOOHHHHH, you mean “You’re So Beautiful” song?!, my favorite song??”  You say yes, but give me specific instructions to NOT sing and that you only want to just “LISSSSTTTENN”. I laugh and agree.

So I play the song, you bob to the hook, and the rest is history. Your new favorite song for the month of October. 🙂
